Its founding members all share a Trinidad and Tobago ancestry or heritage. Recognizing that there was a relatively large amount of people of similar heritage in southern Connecticut they decided to form an organization geared towards promoting the rich culture of the islands of Trinidad and Tobago and as a catalyst for community outreach and cultural exchange.
